Student Conduct and Community Standards

Judge gavel on tableThe Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, through counseling, guidance, and restorative practices, adjudicates violations of the Student Code of Conduct in a fair, educational, and consistent manner. The Student Code of Conduct is outlined in the student handbook, "Life on the Hill".

The Office serves as a resource for students regarding their rights and responsibilities in conduct matters. It is also committed to fostering a community of accountability, reflection, and repair, ensuring students are informed about the conduct process and empowered to grow through it.

Student Conduct and Community Standards fulfills this mission by:

      • Educating students on behavioral expectations and community values.
      • Conducting the student conduct review process with a focus on learning, accountability, and restoration.
      • Promoting fairness, transparency, and due process in all conduct proceedings.
      • Encouraging students to be active, responsible, and respectful members of both the on-campus and off-campus communities.
      • Incorporating restorative justice practices to help students reflect on the impact of their actions and work toward meaningful resolution and reintegration.
      • Collaborating with the University Police Department and other campus partners to protect the health, safety, and integrity of the educational environment.
