Fall Career Fair Reaches Historic Milestone in Student Engagement

Alabama A&M University’s Career Development Services (CDS) reported unprecedented student participation during the Fall 2025 Career Fair, held September 25 in the AAMU Event Center. A total of 1,050 students and alumni engaged with more than 105 employers, making it the largest student turnout in the event’s history.

Representatives from leading national and global organizations – including The Boeing Company, CDW, GE Appliances, Kimberly-Clark, Lockheed Martin, Mars, NextEra, Norfolk Southern, Northrop Grumman, PepsiCo, RTX, Southern Company, and Vulcan – were on site to recruit top talent and showcase career pathways. The event reflected AAMU’s strong reputation among employers seeking highly skilled and prepared candidates.

“Our goal was to create a meaningful and engaging career fair experience for our students – and together, we achieved it,” said CDS Interim Director Angel Lee. “The level of participation demonstrated both the commitment of our students to their professional development and the confidence employers have in AAMU graduates.”

Following the Career Fair, 113 students advanced to interview day, where they met with employers offering internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. Organizations conducting interviews included Boeing, Brasfield & Gorrie, Caddell Construction, Hensel Phelps, Honda, Kimberly-Clark, Lhoist North America, Mars, Inc., Messer Construction, NextEra Energy, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, Robins & Morton, Sandia National Laboratories, Southern Company, and Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

Students reported that the event was not only informative but also inspiring. “Students shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, noting how valuable it was to connect with industry professionals, learn about diverse career paths, and gain insights that will help them make informed decisions about their futures,” said Lee. Recruiters also praised the high level of preparation and professionalism AAMU students demonstrated throughout the fair.

The Fall Career Fair is a centerpiece of CDS’s annual Career Preparedness Week, which equips students with resources such as free professional headshots, resume reviews, mock interviews, and information sessions with government and industry representatives. These initiatives ensure students approach the fair with confidence and readiness to make lasting impressions.

Career Development Services will continue offering programming throughout the fall semester, including college-specific employer information tables, Work-It Wednesday workshops, Careers in Public Service Week, Employer Office Hours, and a Virtual Career Fair in December.
